Do you know what you have been drinking all these years?

EU and Serbian regulation allows winemakers to add any (or all) of over 50 additives to the conventional wine during production process. Click on this text to see what they are.

At Plavinci Winery nothing is added, nothing taken away

Plavinci is the first Serbian winery to have certified organic wines. We do not use any synthetic chemicals in our vineyards. Soil is maintained in a healthy condition with mulched and left-in-place cover crop (no-till) and compost tea made from our own plant material from our organic vegetable gardens and the vineyard itself. Pest control is provided by biodiversity where abundant natural predators have habitat. We are certified for both vineyards and wine by EcoCert.

Plavinci wines are made according to the newly established French standard for natural wines. We do not use any additives. Must is fermented with natural yeast. Wines mature on the lies and are not racked until bottling. Wines are nit filtered. To satisfy legal requirements in Serbia we add a little sulfur just before bottling to our white and rosé. Our wines typically have 20-30 mg/l of sulfur when bottled. For markets where it is legal, we bottle wines without adding any sulfur upon customer request.

Did you know that even in organic production wines are clarified with eggs, milk, fish bladder, pig proteins and other animal products? We do not use animal-based products, either in the vineyard or winery, and our wine can be considered 100% vegan.
